Description

ALOYSIUS CONTARENO DEI GRA(TIA) DUX VENETIARUM, ET…

Verona-Venezia, 1677-1775.

In-4to, 53 manuscript vellum leaves in Italian, different hands, incipit of 5 sections dedicated to Doge in charge (chief magistrate and leader of the Republic of Venice between 726 and 1797)  réhaussé à la feuille d’or and with floral decorations. Binding in red velvet on wooden boards, worn-out, without metal clasp and plaquette.

Comments:

The manuscript was written throughout different periods, from 1677 to 1775, by a noble family from Verona (Earl Cacciali) who, with notaries and secretaries, notes and keeps the requests of the family to the public authorities to certify the property of fiefs and the noble title. Decrees of Veronese and Venetian magistrates. Probably one page is missing in the last section of 1775.
