Ragguaglio delle nozze delle maestà di Filippo Quinto, e di Elisabetta Farnese, nata principessa di Parma re cattolici delle Spagne, solennemente celebrate in Parma l’anno 1714. 

In-folio (314 x 206 mm). Period speckled calf, raised bands, gilt in compartments. Pages 115. Woodcut initial and tailpiece. Engraved allegorical frontispiece, and 5 large folding engraved plates. Small tear to fold at inner margin of 3 plates just touching image, tear to inner margin of Vatican delegation plate extending approx. 40 mm. into image, very pale old dampstain to final plate.

First edition of this exquisitely illustrated livre de fête celebrating the wedding ceremony of King of Spain Philip V King of Spain and Elisabeth Farnese at Parma cathedral. The largest of the plates [89 x 62 cm] shows the entry into Parma of the hundreds-strong Vatican delegation of Cardinal Gozzadini, Bishop of Imola. The four others depict the decorated exterior of the cathedral; the decorated interior, with draperies and allegorical emblems; the wedding ceremony; and an architectural plan of the cathedral.
